Give the Gift of Community
In spring 2025, Maelyn led the development and execution of “Give the Gift of Community,” a heartfelt fundraising campaign. As nonprofit messaging continued to shift toward personal, emotionally driven storytelling, she created a fully integrated campaign centered on a simple, powerful idea: that everyone deserves to experience the meaningful moments that make life rich.
At the core was a letter-style appeal—“Dear {First Name}”—designed to feel intimate, reflective, and deeply human. It invited readers to consider the small joys in their own lives and inspired them to help extend those same experiences to over 20,000 Marylanders living with developmental disabilities through the organization’s Community Life Engagement (CLE) Fund.
Maelyn led every aspect of the campaign from start to finish: developing the concept, writing the copy, designing the materials, planning the donor journey, and aligning cross-channel messaging across print, email, and digital.
The result was the organization’s most engaging seasonal appeal to date, grounded in empathy, designed with intention, and delivered with measurable impact.
The campaign included:
A unifying theme and design system
Web header and landing page for donations
Social media graphics and content
Email design and copy
Printed materials including envelopes, donation letters, and giving cards
By ensuring consistency across digital and print, the campaign created a strong, recognizable identity that inspired donors and reinforced the organization’s mission.
